It’s Easter Time Again

Sunday, March 31st, 2002

Yes, once again, Easter is upon us. In fact as I write this, the holiday is in its first hour across the west coast of the United States. And already, bits of green cellophane “Easter grass” litter my apartment and stick to my feet.

Regardless of how you feel about Easter - whether or not you believe in God, Jesus Christ, the Easter Bunny, candy, or pastel-colored sweaters - there is a message to be taken from the holiday. And that message is: Brush and floss your teeth daily.

On a more serious note, Easter is about hope and selflessness and love and rebirth. All religious connotations aside, the Easter story tells us that even in the midst of our ignorance and evil, there is hope for humankind. It teaches us that people who are willing to give of themselves selflessly can make all the difference. It teaches us that love, even under the weight of adversity and loss, can set us free.

So, let’s all think about that as we gnaw on stale Peeps today. Whoever you are, and whatever you believe about Life, the Universe, and Everything, take a moment to think about sacrifice and love.

But remember, “Be true to your teeth, and they won’t be false to you.”

Bye for now.

If you’re familiar with Moveable Type, you’ve probably realized that my site is sitting at a nearly 100% default setting. This is because I have yet to read / commit to memory the User’s Manual, as it is rather long.

Hopefully, I will soon be a blog UberH@X0r and be able to get this show on the road. And on that special day, my friends, I shall become cool.

Bye for now.
