A friend of mine had the same thing happen to her. Her purse was stolen, with her checkbook in it. OK, maybe your purse wasn’t stolen, but the same idea.

I feel for you. Fixing this is difficult and frustrating, but it can be done. Terry has it right, except it’s not your bank that will hassle you, it’s the people that the stolen checks were written to, and the people who will have the checks bounce on them after you’ve closed your account (I assume you’ve done that). Don’t let them bully you.

SUCK ASS! I have the same question as Terry. How did they get ahold of some of your checks without you noticing?

I would actually feel sorry for anyone who tried to rob from us. Poor thing wouldn’t get enough to pay for his/her expenses. Personally, I think instead of prosecuting these kind of people, they should have to assume the debt of the people they stole from. You steal my purse=you get to pay off the credit cards in it. Works for me.

That sucks majorly. How did someone manage to get ahold of your chequebook? Oh, and be a “bulldog” with the bank… don’t let them shrug it off as being *your* fault.
