		<description>I had heard that, Terry, though I&#039;m not sure why.  Also, the French considered the tomato an aphrodisiac, and called it the pomme d&#039;amour (love apple).

As for the legal vegetable status, Rebecca, I&#039;m not quite sure - though it had something to do with import tariffs.  How something like that got all the way to the Supreme Court is beyond me - though I know a few people who probably ought to be reclassified as vegetables too.
